Frequently asked questions

What ages and hours do you have?

We take children ages 3 and 4, in the morning, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Each child comes two or three mornings a week.

What is a tour like?

It takes a working morning. You will see the outdoor classroom and the indoor room, meet the teachers and bring your child if you like. You book with a short form.

What sets tuition?

The child's age, the mornings a week and the family's co-op hours. We give you the figures on the tour.

How is a place held, and how does the waitlist work?

A place is held with registration and the first month. If there is no place, the family joins the waitlist and we write in the order of the list when one opens.

Is the school licensed, and how many adults are there per child?

Yes. Bosque is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS). The license number and the adults for each group of children are on the safety board.

How many hours does a family work, and what if I can't do a duty?

A duty day in the classroom every two weeks, one job for the year and one family meeting a month. If you can't do a duty, tell us; we look for another way to help.

What if it is very hot or raining?

With an extreme heat warning, lightning or strong wind, the morning moves into the indoor room, and we tell families before they leave home.

Does my child have to be out of diapers?

Three-year-olds who are still learning to use the toilet are welcome. We talk it through with the family on the tour and work together.

What do you do when a child has a hard day?

A teacher stays close, gives them water and time, and speaks to them calmly. Afterward we talk it over with the family.

What about photos of my child?

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
